It is really not an image transfer as it is monocromatic and it actually is a resist print technique. The ink in the magazine resists the paint or ink on the gelli plate and the paper of the magazine where there is less ink present absorbs the paint or ink on the gelli plate - leaving the darker image parts on the gelli plate. The technique is regarded as quite unpredictable so I have testet it with distress ink and oxide to find out whether I could get more control of it.<br />
<br />
Most videos I have seen use acrylic paints. I have not become friend of the acrylic paints yet, though I have become a huge fan of distress ink / oxide. Most videos I have seen also use fashion magazines. That is not my style when creating cards so I have asked my mother to donate her last year flower catalogues to me as she is a hobby-gardener. Flowers on cards are suitable for many occations. Here is a couple of cards I have made using this technique. I have mixed distress ink and oxide as I have only a few colors of each and adjusted the colors to darker colors with the ink. Also I think the ink brings more color variation within one box than the oxide.<br />

To get a good resist print you need to pick a picture with good contrast. So I found these yellow flowers on dark background. In the print the flowers cannot be seen at all, but the text under the picture (name of flower and price) which is black on white can be seen. I also tried with som pink flowers. The color seems to be as rich as the yellow color, but there the flowers is quite clear on the print. I asked myself: Why do the pink work, but not the yellow? Well - continue reading...<br />

I asked my son to borrow his little microscope. It is a 10x zoom. I would like to look at the print to see if it were dots of CMYK colors with different amounts of white-space in between.</div>

The yellow dots of ink is large and all is covered by some ink.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the pink (or maybe magenta) flowers there are a varying amount of white spaces between the dots. This white space is where the distress oxide is absorbed and make up the resist print.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzbjTxS1vX_vE1uWbib6J9xWLYGqxm7oPKnkuTsyzQqIpINqkL5JLxXB5yjlH1LuMe-X_PJ2TE0ywZgxZMLrNjDL9ZfaQcAcZOlrpZFJ_GS7r74oC0OCG2eojD0MJfLKTT9dQxBI03viD1/s1600/resistPrint_pink_microscope.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1011" data-original-width="1600" height="251" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzbjTxS1vX_vE1uWbib6J9xWLYGqxm7oPKnkuTsyzQqIpINqkL5JLxXB5yjlH1LuMe-X_PJ2TE0ywZgxZMLrNjDL9ZfaQcAcZOlrpZFJ_GS7r74oC0OCG2eojD0MJfLKTT9dQxBI03viD1/s400/resistPrint_pink_microscope.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So - look for the white in the images. Yellow is a light color, but it is just as much an ink as black ink and protect the distress ink or oxide from being absorbed. Take a look in the microsope or a good spy glass to analyse the white space to predict the result of the resist print.</div>

The technique is explained by many others and the principle is to glue the printed side to a surface and when the glue is dry you wet the paper to rub the paper off leaving the printed ink.<br />
For the card imaged below I have used distressed ink/oxide with the gelli plate to create a background partly with the resist-print technique using a flower image from a flower magazine. After finishing the background I have applied some text using the image transfer techinque. The text is printed reversed and I have used the print and cut technique with my digital cutter (an old silhouette SD).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg2bsN-Q1tzhgbvgUHviNYhZAYCdZEYV_LMfcqKoGeLYaHYf3F8z8ZSQGAXHZ869uST3t10Zdjcuey0B-GDyDLZXAX0YgDDRtCVuxX7P-YIcCgnmjlScLJ8uolt80wblwvW2DJzO4PbSQV/s1600/primerGlueFinishedCard_supplies.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="943" data-original-width="700" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg2bsN-Q1tzhgbvgUHviNYhZAYCdZEYV_LMfcqKoGeLYaHYf3F8z8ZSQGAXHZ869uST3t10Zdjcuey0B-GDyDLZXAX0YgDDRtCVuxX7P-YIcCgnmjlScLJ8uolt80wblwvW2DJzO4PbSQV/s320/primerGlueFinishedCard_supplies.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I have been testing with different glues and varnishes and would like to share what I have experienced. The image below shows the plan for the first experiment to illustrate my findings. I will use the RX original glue, which is a solvent based glue that do not dilute or blur the inked background. The gel medium is a water based glue, which react with the water soluble ink. Then I will use the RX glue as a primer for the background with the gel medium as glue and lastly I have bought a matt varnish for water colours to test as primer. The printed text images is not black, but a bit grey to challenge the transfer quality. The top two printed texts is cut with my digital cutter using the print and cut technique (more on that in another blogpost). The other two I have just cut out manually to remove excess paper.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD1GrgMWc3Hm1URrmTiE5OVSGei1Ej27q_9xTBAcP71WqN5wydCxwDYvmLeSSKHjnZMEePJhveIji16rdyTUH8QPqgN7bOIR0CLUzrQ7RBsWaLxt9S0tldldkIqSKLWrmXZF8JvlzQWPq5/s1600/primerGluePlan.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="416" data-original-width="482" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD1GrgMWc3Hm1URrmTiE5OVSGei1Ej27q_9xTBAcP71WqN5wydCxwDYvmLeSSKHjnZMEePJhveIji16rdyTUH8QPqgN7bOIR0CLUzrQ7RBsWaLxt9S0tldldkIqSKLWrmXZF8JvlzQWPq5/s320/primerGluePlan.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Here the two upper tags are glued directly on the background. The lower two sections is primed. The priming is invisible unless holding up towards the light - then the RX original has a shiny surface. The glue is applied as thin as possible using a scrap paper with a straight edge scraping of excess glue to leave as little bumps and gloss as possible.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeaYPGSt1nlblT3wfaszGPm3djJkHGzKueSl5TX1xp1J0edQocl3VHFmCA5tbsAMj018P03_Y_F07ln380kSGpXtEENvaaWEtuLFx5seDFCaE4u9zwFXS4mVtc-ttzIgzI9NruxzF_HXRx/s1600/primerGluePrimed.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="408" data-original-width="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeaYPGSt1nlblT3wfaszGPm3djJkHGzKueSl5TX1xp1J0edQocl3VHFmCA5tbsAMj018P03_Y_F07ln380kSGpXtEENvaaWEtuLFx5seDFCaE4u9zwFXS4mVtc-ttzIgzI9NruxzF_HXRx/s320/primerGluePrimed.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
While the glue is wet, one can verify that the glue is applied on all spots as the printed paper is wet and transparent where the glue is. Lighter (dry) spots normally end up with a bad transfer. While drying, the gel medium act as a solvent on the ink and the colour of the background leak through the paper. The dried glue shows what to expect from the different tests. The RX primed background seem to protect the ink.
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlbxcpRcQmaOaKrPoLtHZOK5awDVTtkd-K4OCCRmJBHVn7KTC_BeQwQ1-Bs5waEdHRm5HtbT8e3_S0KK8Gbp8wy5rXlk6DDZrHhYhI6bwfBTgi2RcV4xYBUU3RohqojNtd_3oNheV8q8_Q/s1600/primerGlueWetDry.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="376" data-original-width="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlbxcpRcQmaOaKrPoLtHZOK5awDVTtkd-K4OCCRmJBHVn7KTC_BeQwQ1-Bs5waEdHRm5HtbT8e3_S0KK8Gbp8wy5rXlk6DDZrHhYhI6bwfBTgi2RcV4xYBUU3RohqojNtd_3oNheV8q8_Q/s320/primerGlueWetDry.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I use the corner of a cloth diaper to apply water (moisture) to the paper. When the paper is transparent you know it is wet enough and can start removing the paper. First I lift from the edges and finally a rub my finger over to remove all the paper fibers.
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm5a-F3hhC0eRz93n9sF9pZ1jAlaLCYzOCAI2vTLIoO95GnqYYImhMn4KbNW_bVJNkfIaqF390ZkDhXXoBxRTolgK89BjlvAiVtsEEDsQEll-XttO_NlCkpM2qRwEPu0IZdaPKcjqTC6HT/s1600/primerGlueWater.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="204" data-original-width="200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm5a-F3hhC0eRz93n9sF9pZ1jAlaLCYzOCAI2vTLIoO95GnqYYImhMn4KbNW_bVJNkfIaqF390ZkDhXXoBxRTolgK89BjlvAiVtsEEDsQEll-XttO_NlCkpM2qRwEPu0IZdaPKcjqTC6HT/s320/primerGlueWater.jpg" width="314" /></a></div>
Here is the result. The RX original is performing too good as a glue - it will not let go of the paper fibers. The gel medium alone will lighten and blur the background. That could be an intended effect to increase the contrast to the applied element, but normally I would like to keep the background as is. The RX original as a primer together with the gel medium as glue works fine except that I do not like the shiny residuals. This was why I wanted to try the matt varnish, but at least for this test it is not protective enough. Now it is time to try with a thicker layer of varnish.
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuXJyd-7XQfprvymjq4cJfkE4vRXCgxPNw9vc8lbxUwiHDVWQwlcpxiXsv75CY2ksNuanepJRfp0Ho2kj_ntI1TVC9yrDysr6gqtzXm3rsT7EeDeSPVLtttLDfzcfxopvMJ14vx8emVveR/s1600/primerGlueTransferred.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="943" data-original-width="1200" height="313" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuXJyd-7XQfprvymjq4cJfkE4vRXCgxPNw9vc8lbxUwiHDVWQwlcpxiXsv75CY2ksNuanepJRfp0Ho2kj_ntI1TVC9yrDysr6gqtzXm3rsT7EeDeSPVLtttLDfzcfxopvMJ14vx8emVveR/s400/primerGlueTransferred.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Again I challenge the technique with a busy background and a light color of the print to transfer. Here I have applied the varnish 1 to 3 times to get an increasing thickness of the protective layer. I applied the varnish with a piece of something similar to fun foam. With three layers the matt varnish started to look a bit glossy, but less than one thin layer of RX original. While the glue was drying my hope sank as the bleed of ink was present even with three layers of varnish. When removing the paper the three layers of varnish did keep the background best, but the transferred print was lighter and partly not attached. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Maybe all would be better waiting a bit more. Normally it is recommended to wait until the next day to remove the paper from the print. So that will be my next test. How much does the drying time mean to the quality of the transfer print.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I have also applied normal vaseline to cards to protect them from moisture (wet fingers). That works fine, but cannot be used as a primer as nothing will stick to the waxed surface. For this card I have used the RX as primer, gel medium as glue and vaseline around the tag.

So to give an extra protection to these I've sewn sleeves. For fun and for having names on the sleeves I have tried out heat transfer vinyl for the first time. It was great fun and I'm pretty pleased with the results. I've used soft-shell wich should not tolerate ironing, but I tested and it worked out fine.<br />

I like the consept especially that we parents have agreed on the sum and that it is quite low, but still - it is so boring! So I try to pimp it up a bit with these saving pig cards.<br />

As far as I understand the Hershey fonts are defined using straight-line vectors only. I wanted to have a truly rounded version of the script 1 stroke font and used the Hershey-extension to build the glyphs. Then I edited the nodes to get smooth paths. See the difference in the image below. I also added some letters for being able to write Norwegian letters. Then I took the paths through <a href="http://myscrappinginspiration.blogspot.no/2015/01/extension-to-simplify-font-creating.html">this process</a> to create a singe line True Type font.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaqg2dVfU-_uvmOt2TSRtdwQhI4WCIY1bEozhyphenhyphendveeKEb4Aj3UKETCO1gY60y7d7WeBxsGVDuK6KkIorFZBsCFjZMs50v4RGmRdXrYkE66zJ3FZYpFDQx-xmhFJju0Va1RMU3M92SgRvtP/s1600/hershey_ext_vs_font.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="476" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaqg2dVfU-_uvmOt2TSRtdwQhI4WCIY1bEozhyphenhyphendveeKEb4Aj3UKETCO1gY60y7d7WeBxsGVDuK6KkIorFZBsCFjZMs50v4RGmRdXrYkE66zJ3FZYpFDQx-xmhFJju0Va1RMU3M92SgRvtP/s640/hershey_ext_vs_font.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Here I have tested the resulting font in Inkscape using <a href="http://myscrappinginspiration.blogspot.no/2013/07/how-to-use-temporary-closed-single-line.html">this process </a>to reopen the closed paths of the True Type font.<br />

Then, if you are a Windows user, you will find that Inkscape has not updated your font even though you have deleted your font from the C:\Windows\Fonts before reinstalling it. The problem seems to be that when you reinstall the font it will be adding to the previous version by naming the files yourfont_1.ttf, yourfont_2.ttf.... Most programs seem to take the latest version. Inkscape don't. Next problem: these files are not visible in the file manager as the file manager switches to the Control Panel view if you select this folder and hide the versionfiles. So, as you are going to use Inkscape for your testing and for the use of your new font you will have to get rid of all the versions in memory. This is how:<br />
<br />
Run the command prompt window as administrator<br />
(Search for cmd, rightclick and run as administrator)<br />
Change folder to C:\Windows\Fonts<br />
Delete the versions:<br />
C:\Windows\Fonts>del yourfontName*<br />
<br />
Now - restart Inkscape and continue testing. Redo this every time you have a new version.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have made this post to explain one issue with the convertToSvgFont-extension. Here I have some paths define the glyphs aABb. First I will show what happens IF I DON'T combine (Ctrl+K) all paths belonging to one glyph. When I select all paths I can see the bounding boxes (dotted lines). Each bounding box will be sorted by its minimum x position and placed as a path into the glyphs in the text-string. The FontForge print screen is shown and we have clearly got the wrong thing. Both outer and inner paths is regarded as separate glyphs.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUnsVlwPGXs5pyfvyGFRv2UAPO17GlvzZg2FlCmQIxr4686Yd6FtMLDauxAVAoRIzjPgV9CzRJAP-RVx4M2yfPhekw_6fea5KsIpEsxfO3b9wve8h8faGYW0tX0GQJXdVu07tid7b2NUjj/s1600/outlineFontUncombined.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUnsVlwPGXs5pyfvyGFRv2UAPO17GlvzZg2FlCmQIxr4686Yd6FtMLDauxAVAoRIzjPgV9CzRJAP-RVx4M2yfPhekw_6fea5KsIpEsxfO3b9wve8h8faGYW0tX0GQJXdVu07tid7b2NUjj/s1600/outlineFontUncombined.png" height="299" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now we try something smarter: Combining (Ctrl+K) all paths belonging to one glyph. Now when we select all paths only four bounding boxes is visible and we have four glyphs defined correctly in FontForge.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I know I read about this in the <a href="http://designwithfontforge.com/en-US/Introduction.html" target="_blank">FontForge tutorial</a>, but I cannot remember or find where. You should be careful with the direction of your paths when designing them. Here I have tested with different glyphs having outer and inner paths. Under each path I have written which direction the outer and inner paths have. For the capital A (which have the correct directions) I have also marked them with red arrows to better visualize what I am trying to say. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_KIuhHFO9fa8Rrb6pro2xBbYYSRnZ1gZxJFdt_TgfsDhPIBO_wUX0d8o3X44SUKLcEu2vLRTCUZJM1y4LLCX3sfXRj8KfLw0uYLxlaICMri5ekv7jZR9vbqNwF0atnwlgfHYRugrlUZLM/s1600/outlineFontDirection.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_KIuhHFO9fa8Rrb6pro2xBbYYSRnZ1gZxJFdt_TgfsDhPIBO_wUX0d8o3X44SUKLcEu2vLRTCUZJM1y4LLCX3sfXRj8KfLw0uYLxlaICMri5ekv7jZR9vbqNwF0atnwlgfHYRugrlUZLM/s1600/outlineFontDirection.png" height="275" width="320" /></a></div>
All the other glyphs end up with black holes when I opened the .svg in FontForge. If I tried to generate the font and install it the holes seemed to be correct, though, but I'd recommend to use the preferred directions, just in case.<br />
<br />
Path - > Reverse help you change the directions.<br />
You can use arrows as start/end markers on the strokes to visualize the directions or you can use the extension Visualize Path -> Number nodes.<br />
<br />

I previously posted a simplified solution for using Inkscape to paste multiple svg paths into svg glyphs to create an svg font which again could be converted to an ttf font using FontForge. I have sofisticated this process (pretty much I'd say) and here comes the new recipe. It still has some issues to work out, but I find it presentable now. Thanks to <a href="https://cleversomeday.wordpress.com/2010/02/09/inkscape-dings/" target="_blank">cleversomeday</a> getting me started by showing that it was possible to create fonts with Inkscape and for being an active test-user so that I am able to discover bugs to fix.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So - we start with the svg file <a href="https://dl.orangedox.com/nrhvu9ftyIudjWMSdD" target="_blank">fontStarter</a>. This file already have some example paths. Play with these or remove them to put your own paths in. The example paths show a single line font, but this extension would work also for more "normal" outline fonts. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzB_Wy-vVCL0vkm8VAGwrNODqShBg6q61mGnNRPVkDdbNqZbFOFEmKIgQC3xv1nS5TGC5druD9CYEYADcsUb863U0az0bFgeJjrpSafkl6efIGZF60snrQ9BaqnwfMk1QhUCKdDZ05fYbB/s1600/fontstarter_v2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="235" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzB_Wy-vVCL0vkm8VAGwrNODqShBg6q61mGnNRPVkDdbNqZbFOFEmKIgQC3xv1nS5TGC5druD9CYEYADcsUb863U0az0bFgeJjrpSafkl6efIGZF60snrQ9BaqnwfMk1QhUCKdDZ05fYbB/s1600/fontstarter_v2.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<ul>
<li>Design or paste your paths here and make sure they rest on the baseline. </li>
<li>You may move the other guides, but keep the baseline where it is. </li>
<li>The paths will be sorted by the minimum x-position of their bounding boxes so the glyph order will be defined by this.</li>
<li>Make sure the paths are not grouped.</li>
<li>If two or more paths build one glyph (like in the character "i"), make sure you combine these paths (Ctrl+K) to one before running the extension. Or else you will have the dot in one character and the stem in the next and it will all be <a href="http://myscrappinginspiration.blogspot.no/2015/01/combining-paths-to-form-one-glyph.html" target="_blank">corrupted</a>.</li>
<li>If the boundingbox of one path stretches to the left of the path that is supposed to be the previous glyph you will have problems. Typically the descender of a j extening to the left og the previous i. Fix this by separating these paths so that the minimum x-position fits the path order. </li>
<li>If you want a single line open path font: Be aware of paths you want to keep closed if they contain straight lines: make sure the path is closed before you start. Or else it will not open at the correct places when you use the <a href="http://myscrappinginspiration.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/how-to-use-temporary-closed-single-line.html" target="_blank">re-open path extension</a>.</li>
<li>If you are making a "normal" outline font make sure the outer path is going clockwise and the inner path(s) are counterclockwise or else FontForge will do strange things.</li>
<li>I've seen that some special characters do not work very well so that will be work in progress. A temporary fix will be to design the paths with special characters at the end (highest x-positions) and let the text-string not contain these characters. Then after running the extension you will find glyphs in the svg code without a unicode defined. Add the unicode you want there or define it in FontForge. Doubleclick the glyphs marked with a red questionmark and choose Element - Glyph Info. Write the character if possible or the unicode "u+" and unicodenumber. In the latter case press the Select from Value button to fill in the rest. <a href="http://e-tidsskrift.dk/dev/tegntabel.html#specialtegn" target="_blank">Here</a> is one table of specialcharacters and their unicode.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Download <span style="text-align: start;"><a href="https://dl.orangedox.com/CeHz2c391oC4tvknlQ" target="_blank">convertToSvgFont.inx</a> and<a href="https://dl.orangedox.com/F4c3MNJ3yHqRQ1tTBm" target="_blank"> convertToSvgFont.py</a>. Place it in the \Inkscape\share\extension folder. Restart Inkscape and you will find the extension Typography-> Convert selected paths to svg-font</span></li>
</ul>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsZRwNWFVC4V4GNxGTYTGartz5iaEkhnRXD6uXt0lMN7mdo6JW4EWY5WF07G-7zF_xXQwjXnMIY0vCHdCAmsXTI06iOMa-mT_Ncp2w6NFwsTwEzgbg9hYgy0sTHw-E6dh41rFUYvbo2Kgb/s1600/convert.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="247" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsZRwNWFVC4V4GNxGTYTGartz5iaEkhnRXD6uXt0lMN7mdo6JW4EWY5WF07G-7zF_xXQwjXnMIY0vCHdCAmsXTI06iOMa-mT_Ncp2w6NFwsTwEzgbg9hYgy0sTHw-E6dh41rFUYvbo2Kgb/s400/convert.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<ul>
<li>Write the glyphorder as a string into the extension or copy/paste it from the textstring prepared in the fontstarter file. Name your font (can be edited in FontForge).</li>
<li>The extension will: </li>
<ul>
<li>order the paths accordi<span style="text-align: center;">ng to the minimum x-position and link one by one to the glyphs in the string provided to the extension</span></li>
<li><span style="text-align: center;">the paths will be maximized within the svg-page </span></li>
<li><span style="text-align: center;">and flipped upside down as it turns out that is how it works</span></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><span style="text-align: center;">if you are creating a single line open path font the paths to be kept closed is prepared to tolerate the re-opening process. Paths ending with a curve will have the first</span><span style="text-align: center;"> node copied to the last. Paths ending with straight line will have the last line curved to trick the object to path function to leave the path closed after the re-opening process.</span></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><span style="text-align: center;">All paths will be closed as the ttf demands closed paths as discussed before. You can choose whether you want the glyphs to start at zero at the bounding box or move zero to the maximum of the bounding box of the previous glyph. This will help you get the left bearing a quickstart if you do not want to spend a lot of time on kerning in FontForge.</span></li>
</ul>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: left;">
To verify that the extension did its job and that you have followed all the steps correctly:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<ul>
<li>Go to Edit > XML Editor</li>
<li>Locate the svg:defs > svg:font > svg:glyph</li>
<li>The first glyph should have a parameter d as blank (this is the space-glyph)</li>
<li>For the next glyphs in the list: Look for a defined path (text-string starting with M and then numbers and some other letters as shown in the red box below).</li>
</ul>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkHi75wXhqi0P1b3ZIAV8nAJtDhj-MgYbcCIsi6KgOOKa4j7DfW_louktV5psateVos-1nO3Jmtz3od4Su7tykIIfjYatXB_l3HUBMrTeLIMjElNM4vHsp0EOUFpz3qI3kvymflGO5PUFU/s1600/glyphFilled.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="182" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkHi75wXhqi0P1b3ZIAV8nAJtDhj-MgYbcCIsi6KgOOKa4j7DfW_louktV5psateVos-1nO3Jmtz3od4Su7tykIIfjYatXB_l3HUBMrTeLIMjElNM4vHsp0EOUFpz3qI3kvymflGO5PUFU/s400/glyphFilled.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Now save the svg-file and open it in the newest version of <a href="http://fontforge.github.io/en-US/downloads/">FontForge</a>.
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkrRvgcZVPJsMSMyAtgksAlXeLgvRlVzPTJEP_8FyURARQGs339jbGhbTHn6ZJd8sYsy6SXXsR2L_0P3UcyFxk7yEBgkMtWetbMY4mcgOivsZINoq-FD1B8u0PQe7X2qWb-vB5jGviYOlx/s1600/curlyFontForge.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="159" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkrRvgcZVPJsMSMyAtgksAlXeLgvRlVzPTJEP_8FyURARQGs339jbGhbTHn6ZJd8sYsy6SXXsR2L_0P3UcyFxk7yEBgkMtWetbMY4mcgOivsZINoq-FD1B8u0PQe7X2qWb-vB5jGviYOlx/s1600/curlyFontForge.png" width="320" /></a><br />
<ul>
<li>Adjust the right bearing by selecting all glyphs, Metrics - > Set Rbearing. Set the Rbearing to zero if you want the glyphs to attach.</li>
<li>Adjust the space glyph (first with an cross). Drag the vertical bar to set the width of the space glyph (for example the same width your a-glyph).</li>
<li>To get baseline at 0: Select all glyphs Ctrl+A and go to Elemtents - Transformations - Transform - Move Y -200</li>
<li>You can edit the name of your font in Element -> Font info</li>
<li>File -> Generate Font</li>
<li>Some errors may be ignored - just continue. And you have your own font.</li>
<li>Doublclick the .ttf file and install the font. </li>
<ul>
<li>PS: Windows/Inkscape issue when reinstalling after editing described <a href="http://myscrappinginspiration.blogspot.no/2016/04/optimizing-and-testing-your-font.html">here</a>.</li>
</ul>
<li>Restart Inkscape to be able to use the newly installed font.</li>
</ul>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here I have installed the font. And written in Inkscape. It is a single line font so it looks weird until I open the paths. First line is text filled, no stroke. Second line is text, no filling, stroke. There is many ways to do this. I know of none effective and automatic. Here I show one of the partly automatic, but still pretty ineffective ways I've found to do this and some step-by-step images.<br />
<br />
I found this <a href="http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=11836" target="_blank">topic in Inkscape forum</a> that discuss how to find the centerline of lines from drawings and the extension interpolate was suggested so I tried it and think it works good. To get it right and to make the single line draw the path one would with handwriting we need to add som manual preparation before using the extension on the glyphs.<br />
<br />
So here is an example for the simple glyph c and the more complex d. I have used the font League Script that I found on <a href="http://www.fontsquirrel.com/" target="_blank">fontsquirrel.com</a>. Lets start with the simple c.
Type the letters and convert to path. Turn on stroke and off fill.
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGg-3ttwX9UJwwWUip4dTVXO9btVp-DrhCJ8lr1W41Q73iUxXjnyxm6EsD3qnOucxDhuAo3TU01R5qsqPFd4ZewqZnCZ-QGWXIB2SdgF-WpbW9b8NnK7IB3u_qAzruPzDAZ9NjSckflCfJ/s1600/cd1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGg-3ttwX9UJwwWUip4dTVXO9btVp-DrhCJ8lr1W41Q73iUxXjnyxm6EsD3qnOucxDhuAo3TU01R5qsqPFd4ZewqZnCZ-QGWXIB2SdgF-WpbW9b8NnK7IB3u_qAzruPzDAZ9NjSckflCfJ/s320/cd1.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Cut the double-path at the positions where the centerline path should start and stop. Break apart the two paths (Ctrl+Shift+K). Reverse one of the two paths to make the start and end point of the two paths match.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhczvkGyVmz_YDi5I1jqB-bVNz76N9btQerMV-XKUTh2lHylbAd5xGbrmiGi-Bh8nOgozvSo6h0Buo5yTRHRN9qUPGBMHgZVGdJ8hWPWxnUbCTqJVjKsuwbeRSAJkzV0O_imeTO8dhcju4z/s1600/cd1a.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhczvkGyVmz_YDi5I1jqB-bVNz76N9btQerMV-XKUTh2lHylbAd5xGbrmiGi-Bh8nOgozvSo6h0Buo5yTRHRN9qUPGBMHgZVGdJ8hWPWxnUbCTqJVjKsuwbeRSAJkzV0O_imeTO8dhcju4z/s320/cd1a.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Select the two paths and go to Extensions->Generate from path->Interpolate and use steps 1 and do not duplicate endpaths. Apply.
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinY5WHH4sNLbwGIaV1CdcDiiuI8LlaHy_2qoJ9ywPZU9Umwee3yf1KtDPd59URYOG7mJWmg2SARG5o78DRicx-Sc63SeXWdjDsu280lqTmgXqx1ukmJ8mWX57Wbn5QneZoCUh63TH1ovHl/s1600/cd2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinY5WHH4sNLbwGIaV1CdcDiiuI8LlaHy_2qoJ9ywPZU9Umwee3yf1KtDPd59URYOG7mJWmg2SARG5o78DRicx-Sc63SeXWdjDsu280lqTmgXqx1ukmJ8mWX57Wbn5QneZoCUh63TH1ovHl/s320/cd2.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Now I have the centerline as a new path. I have colored it red to better show the result.
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgB2T3YfcOlOXIosqwGkzmmK_UccAszTVue-Q26F3eP_bKy_hPNsK5xopXw4dFXTSp_6PSvBIZZ60W5e_ohXQuh1c0_tgBaEnbc6moaEC_OEpOo4S35hSgQPSqdNKfMyxVEGYeQKZ0tLA0b/s1600/cd3b.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgB2T3YfcOlOXIosqwGkzmmK_UccAszTVue-Q26F3eP_bKy_hPNsK5xopXw4dFXTSp_6PSvBIZZ60W5e_ohXQuh1c0_tgBaEnbc6moaEC_OEpOo4S35hSgQPSqdNKfMyxVEGYeQKZ0tLA0b/s320/cd3b.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Now, lets advance to the d. Here I have a plan to cut the final d-path into three parts; the ring, the top and the tail. The red dots show where I have cut the paths. For each of the three parts I have two paths (inner and outer if you like) that will be interpolated. The closed paths (inner ring and inner top) also have to be cut close to the position of the start and end for the outer paths.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-J_in8iUzRyuSB9S-h6HttPBFJwWYyzd4Y1Mo2MdDHnKWZFJelUACTinmhw7CE11KsXbLJTBquyl-tacN_Nd9hhBxFQG_-5tkp4vZdWNB5GjR2tjhRXVlDAZvEhMTHVFtwIAMhDWxkDrS/s1600/cd1d.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-J_in8iUzRyuSB9S-h6HttPBFJwWYyzd4Y1Mo2MdDHnKWZFJelUACTinmhw7CE11KsXbLJTBquyl-tacN_Nd9hhBxFQG_-5tkp4vZdWNB5GjR2tjhRXVlDAZvEhMTHVFtwIAMhDWxkDrS/s320/cd1d.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Removing the original paths I now have three paths to combine. First I combine the paths using Ctrl+K. Then I think of how I would write this by hand and combine the end nodes of the ring and top according to that</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and continue to combine the top with the tail.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS7MqFmbc0tOb-0VhKlOmMhTDRj4NKkzXIqYS1RnBbeIbXsrFEX2J0P0pR1ox9BF74KoWEtefCF4r5h7BgQxSARSqziPh2_qWwVk_lqq31bE0nyUqkHGAtuECGmZJxMsSIw1BmiDGe4xJB/s1600/cd1d6.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS7MqFmbc0tOb-0VhKlOmMhTDRj4NKkzXIqYS1RnBbeIbXsrFEX2J0P0pR1ox9BF74KoWEtefCF4r5h7BgQxSARSqziPh2_qWwVk_lqq31bE0nyUqkHGAtuECGmZJxMsSIw1BmiDGe4xJB/s320/cd1d6.png" /></a></div>

I have created a few single line font using the method described in a <a href="http://myscrappinginspiration.blogspot.no/2013/07/how-i-create-my-own-single-or-double.html">previous post</a>. In another post I have described <a href="http://myscrappinginspiration.blogspot.no/2013/07/how-to-use-temporary-closed-single-line.html">how to use</a> these temporary closed single line fonts. Download the font by clicking the image. The fonts are free for personal use.</div>

I've also rounded and converted the <a href="http://myscrappinginspiration.blogspot.no/2016/04/hershey-script-1-stroke-as-ttf-single.html">Hershey Script 1-stroke</a> font to True Type.<br />

"Innbydelse" means invitation and this is the card I created together with my kid turning 5. All was created in Inkscape and cutted/plotted using my Silhouette SD. For the text I used the text along path function. I used the italic version of the <a href="http://www.dafont.com/enter-sansman.font" target="_blank">Enter Sansman font</a> which I found very similar to the Goodyear font. For the letters B and D I splitted the letters using a bar to keep the inner parts in place after cutting. I used a white ring of printer paper to get the letters white.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The racing car is one of my boy's drawings that I scanned and manually vectorized using Inkscape. I also made him write his name and vectorized this. For the text inside the card I used the <a href="http://www.mrrace.com/CamBam_Fonts/" target="_blank">CamBam Stick font</a> number 8.</div>

My husband had this great idea that we should purchase six boxes: one for each member of the family and one for the top floor and one for the basement. The purpose is to transport all mess to its proper place or adressing it to the rightful sinner.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We found the perfect boxes for this at IKEA. These plastic boxes have the optimal surface for attaching vinyl to it, they can be stacked if needed and the size is large enough to take a reasonable amount of mess. To see the name on the box from the side and from above I have attached the vinyl text both inside and outside.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A great idea tend to die when meeting real life, but I'd say this have been working quite as intended. I plan to give the boxes a base camp like small shelves to rest on when getting filled. Lack shelves from IKEA with concealed mounting, I guess...</div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">A large amount of digital fonts is available for free on the web. One challenge with these fonts using a plotter is that the standard font formats (True Type .ttf and Open Type .otf) are defined by its outline. These outline paths are closed paths and the format require closed paths. When I use my plotter for writing text I will typically prefer to draw the centerline (single line) not the outline. The centerline is typically an open path and are therefore not accepted by the ttf/otf format. </span></span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.15; margin-bottom: 10pt; margin-top: 0pt;">

<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.15; white-space: pre-wrap;">To make an open path, single line font available in the .ttf/.otf the paths can be closed temporarely. Then the paths just need to be opened before plotted. </span></div>

I have also a tutorial on how to <a href="http://myscrappinginspiration.blogspot.no/2013/07/how-i-create-my-own-single-or-double.html" target="_blank">make your own single line fonts</a> and you can <a href="http://myscrappinginspiration.blogspot.no/2014/02/a-curly-single-line-font.html" target="_blank">download one of mine single line fonts</a>.<br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 18px;">The developers of <a href="http://www.make-the-cut.com/" target="_blank">Make-the-Cut</a> software has come up with the workaround for open path fonts. For the temporary closed single line font of .ttf format, the extension could be changed to .opf (Open Path Font). The MTC software recognize these fonts by their extension and knows not to close the paths when rendered.</span></div>
<div style="line-height: normal;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="line-height: normal;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 18px;">I do not have the MTC software, but this is how I am able to use these fonts using Inkscape:</span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit; line-height: 18px;">Change the extension (.opf) back to .ttf and install the font</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit; line-height: 18px;">Use the Inkscape-extension described above to re-open the paths.</span></li>
</ul>

<span style="font-family: inherit; line-height: 18px;"><a href="http://www.letteringdelights.com/searchprod.php?search=thin+fonts" target="_blank">Lettering Delights</a> have a lot of these .opf fonts available. Beautiful fonts, but not for free. <a href="http://underacherrytree.blogspot.no/2012/04/new-lettering-delights-thin-fonts.html" target="_blank">Under a Cherry Tree</a> have an inspiring post on how to use these fonts with th MTC software. Neither these are for free. The letters a-d can be downloaded for trial before purchase to see that it is working with your software.</span></div>

<span style="color: black; font-family: inherit; font-size: 15px; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">The stick fonts are fonts having an overlapping outline and thus look like single line. The plotter will draw all glyphs twice (forth and back). This will take more time and might cause the pens to last shorter(?) If these fonts should be used with rhinestones the glyphs will have to be manually edited to make the path single. Cut Two Pieces show in a <a href="http://www.cuttwopieces.com/search/label/Single%20line%20fonts" target="_blank">video</a> how she solves this. I'm thinking about writing an Inkscape extension for this to automate that process.</span></div>

Single line fonts that are true single lined, but in the format of .ttf or .otf need to be closed paths to fullfill the requirements for the file format. True single line fonts are open paths. So if we have temporarely closed a single line font this may be unclosed using my <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/sh/19i8srz2ji0f6is/AABjKHSZD2Zy3_U2jwciP0Axa?dl=0" target="_blank">reopenSingleLineFont</a>-extension. To install the extension copy the .py and .inx to the \Inkscape\share\extension folder. You need to restart Inkscape.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
How the text to path is rendered is a bit different among the versions of Inkscape. For the last version 0.91 and mac the last node (if straight line) should be removed. For Windows and the older v0.48 only z's should be removed.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here I have written something with my closed single line font.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI_A13DWQ7oxAZp1qvplCm4tj7SrQMjVc_4U76iaSsml0gnCtFI3rl3kIOcygyFqnm-gMf0nUbvt3ngGTG1ZcT4hX3wxXX7Gbfd115eYnnQule-B2wCIattbpFXUz0DP_3lG7vR-Ick2S_/s1600/R_testing1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI_A13DWQ7oxAZp1qvplCm4tj7SrQMjVc_4U76iaSsml0gnCtFI3rl3kIOcygyFqnm-gMf0nUbvt3ngGTG1ZcT4hX3wxXX7Gbfd115eYnnQule-B2wCIattbpFXUz0DP_3lG7vR-Ick2S_/s320/R_testing1.png" height="199" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
To see the paths I turn the stroke on and the filling off.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZP4nEbYm1r0mxoAgzmTpiFhhOqh6NqlWs-lsquETmBUDiyFZR6PTC0lhAN3H8QCuzoAYgRA2vacR1YtYXqrpWjyBFG5L0M7URb8x-CIzqnSiGsQOoLEyFb9yMq0imzVkzFZovcZrkShPV/s1600/R_testing2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZP4nEbYm1r0mxoAgzmTpiFhhOqh6NqlWs-lsquETmBUDiyFZR6PTC0lhAN3H8QCuzoAYgRA2vacR1YtYXqrpWjyBFG5L0M7URb8x-CIzqnSiGsQOoLEyFb9yMq0imzVkzFZovcZrkShPV/s320/R_testing2.png" height="199" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I convert the text to path (Path->Object to Path) and ungroup the text-paths.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgytmse4aKWrXQPpHbmB_xCTQ9bjOqGJecCFqs9lvAYOMWEXelk7rBZOjEMdQXUwC6N26miH28-BjNj9GHRegvpa2guzMowXV-ow-g4OYPbcxtzmCtILI4EFA4pU9fQHIKt5Hu3vnj4ZNKg/s1600/R_testing3_objectPath_ungroup.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgytmse4aKWrXQPpHbmB_xCTQ9bjOqGJecCFqs9lvAYOMWEXelk7rBZOjEMdQXUwC6N26miH28-BjNj9GHRegvpa2guzMowXV-ow-g4OYPbcxtzmCtILI4EFA4pU9fQHIKt5Hu3vnj4ZNKg/s320/R_testing3_objectPath_ungroup.png" height="199" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Next I use the reopenSingleLineFont from the Extensions->Typography menu (Re-open single line font). And my font is no longer text, but at least it looks and works as I want to :)<br />

The doors still need to be painted, though, but first things first... I've used silver vinyl on top of black vinyl. This was sticked to glossy cardstock and I used Tack-it to stick it to the door. <br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbBrjc6m_hP9JvQCtCTk_kFIlOBmSXUQu0L6qotk5MeRwJUeInLzjprEJVHJ3zZvbDubPVdAWsE4F_3x-NVW_nJjiny7DWhxqX0j1IDsrG9YqInJT6142Xn8QJMm0ou9SUPuCMxjK4Kw5C/s1600/dod%25C3%25B8rskilt.jpg"><img style="margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbBrjc6m_hP9JvQCtCTk_kFIlOBmSXUQu0L6qotk5MeRwJUeInLzjprEJVHJ3zZvbDubPVdAWsE4F_3x-NVW_nJjiny7DWhxqX0j1IDsrG9YqInJT6142Xn8QJMm0ou9SUPuCMxjK4Kw5C/s320/dod%25C3%25B8rskilt.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5677129721788608002" /></a>LNpellenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06830823412524513600noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9181234420877990226.post-7632213601534941302011-11-17T01:44:00.001-08:002011-11-17T01:49:34.590-08:00To-from stamp - ready for ChristmasCreated using InkScape for the curved text. Sent the jpg to <a href="http://www.simonstamp.com/">simonstamp.com</a> and two weeks later I had y own rubber stamp. Cost about 200 NOK (35 USD) for the stamp, a pad, extra ink and shipping. Thats a good price for such a large stamp!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiT7zJVfttBy0cRME0nG3hJ1BMUU56oshm8IFPY1ggNMquGMZRj_1ZT3ffz3SLgS_zb1ju7q4_SCuigIe69miyQjosaqrdlzobtdWUYkiOXMSrQZG2DsF0hq_759vDt5ICPJ7viCrs4dMWd/s1600/tilfraStempel_ferdig.jpg"><img style="margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 211px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiT7zJVfttBy0cRME0nG3hJ1BMUU56oshm8IFPY1ggNMquGMZRj_1ZT3ffz3SLgS_zb1ju7q4_SCuigIe69miyQjosaqrdlzobtdWUYkiOXMSrQZG2DsF0hq_759vDt5ICPJ7viCrs4dMWd/s320/tilfraStempel_ferdig.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5675898531217491042" /></a>LNpellenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06830823412524513600noreply@blogger.com0
