The balloon is sent to the party-girls as an invitation. Opening the card reveals a heart. It's a heartily welcome :)

The text is written with the Hershey-online font.

Saving pig card

In birthdays for school-mates it is quite normal here to give money instead of a gift. I like the consept especially that we parents have agreed on the sum and that it is quite low, but still - it is so boring! So I try to pimp it up a bit with these saving pig cards.

Hershey Script 1-stroke as ttf single line font

I have been using the Hershey-extension that comes with Inkscape. As far as I understand the Hershey fonts are defined using straight-line vectors only. I wanted to have a truly rounded version of the script 1 stroke font and used the Hershey-extension to build the glyphs. Then I edited the nodes to get smooth paths. See the difference in the image below. I also added some letters for being able to write Norwegian letters. Then I took the paths through this process to create a singe line True Type font.

Here I have tested the resulting font in Inkscape using this process to reopen the closed paths of the True Type font.

You are welcome to download the font.

Optimizing and testing your font

Working on a new font I guess you will find yourself reinstalling your font after some testing and editing. Then, if you are a Windows user, you will find that Inkscape has not updated your font even though you have deleted your font from the C:\Windows\Fonts before reinstalling it. The problem seems to be that when you reinstall the font it will be adding to the previous version by naming the files yourfont_1.ttf, yourfont_2.ttf.... Most programs seem to take the latest version. Inkscape don't. Next problem: these files are not visible in the file manager as the file manager switches to the Control Panel view if you select this folder and hide the versionfiles. So, as you are going to use Inkscape for your testing and for the use of your new font you will have to get rid of all the versions in memory. This is how:

Run the command prompt window as administrator
(Search for cmd, rightclick and run as administrator)
Change folder to C:\Windows\Fonts
Delete the versions:
C:\Windows\Fonts>del yourfontName*

Now - restart Inkscape and continue testing. Redo this every time you have a new version.

Happy easter

This little fellow was a project for the kids-club at church. Fantastic with a cutting machine so the paper-parts could be pre-cut and the kids could put the parts together to make their own expression to the chick.

Princess crown

A little princess-card that I have used for invitations and birthday cards.

Flower card

Here I have combined my favorite equipments: my computer, my Silhouette with a pen, my Silhouette as a cutter, my sewing machine and a good old neadle and thread.
I have used my curly single line font to create the sketch.
